2022: after two years of pandemic and three months of war, nothing seems further 
away and yet sadly still the same and immobile as life "as before" in our city. 
In Trieste, as if nothing had happened, the frenzied race to cordon off, sell 
off, asphalt whatever is resumed.
What the Dipiazza-ter junta failed to do is the Dipiazza-quater junta: to lock up 
the city center more and more, steal not only the cruises from Venice, but also 
the unenviable destiny of the city-disneyland, abandoned en masse by its citizens 
and close to a quota of entrances to cope with the hordes of tourists; but adding 
to all this our chronic problems concerning traffic, abandonment of the suburbs, 
non-existent youth aggregation outside the reviled yet profitable "Movida" - just 
to name a few.
The only space for young people remains the more or less glossy bars in the city 
center, among increasingly inaccessible prices, crazy schedules and shifts of 
those who are exploited in them and photocopy "parties", while for street artists 
they invent themselves increasingly tortuous and bizarre regulations.
Added to this are the signs of the (bad) management of the pandemic: red zones, 
curfews, prohibitions to demonstrate have left a mark, dug a new groove that 
already this May 1st we have seen in all its depth, in the words of the mayor who 
has practically asked to ban the demonstrations in the center-showcase of the 
city forever, as if to hide the dust under the carpet, away from the eyes of its 
precious tourists, ghostly hens laying golden eggs whose real impact on the 
socio-economic fabric of Trieste is still to be evaluated (and no, the pockets of 
hoteliers and restaurateurs are not a yardstick).
In all this we are left with starvation wages (the only ones in Europe to have 
fallen instead of increasing in the last thirty years), house prices that rise 
while our districts suddenly become attractive areas for tourists and therefore 
hotels and B & Bs that sprouting like mushrooms, the high cost of living that 
presents us with the price of the warmongering choices of our ruling class.
The sense of frustration, anxiety, helplessness, loneliness is something that is 
familiar to us, but which we do not want to accept.
Something we want to fight with aggregation, solidarity, mutual support and 
self-management.
Something we want to oppose by being together, starting from the square of the 
most populous and historically most popular, working-class and combative district 
of Trieste: Campo San Giacomo.
We meet every Tuesday, from 6 pm, in the square, for a glass with friends, some 
music and all the activities that will come to mind, deciding together how to 
live our neighborhoods

WEDNESDAY 22 SISTERY CRY at 7.30 pm in Piazza Hortis
On November 27, 2021, we brought 96 pañuelos to Piazza Hortis to commemorate the 
victims of femicides that took place in the last year until then.
In the following weeks and months we also updated the number of pañuelos, already 
in the last days of last year there were more than 100.
The number of femicides continues to grow and is the most visible expression of 
patriarchal violence.

there have been 9 femicides, one of which in our region.
Together with us, many others took care of this garrison of memory and anger, 
leaving signs of solidarity and ensuring that it was not removed.
Nonetheless, some of the pañuelos have been ruined and torn.
We meet on Wednesday 22 June at 7:30 pm in a public assembly in Piazza Hortis to 
collectively take care of the garrison and continue to make our voices heard 
against feminicides and gender-based violence.

TOWARDS PRIDE-TS! is an event that wants to tell a recent journey, born from the 
meeting and discussion of queer subjectivities that inhabit the city of Trieste.
Those who have animated it so far have done so by bringing with them individual 
and collective experiences that are different from each other but linked together 
by belonging to the galaxy of people in conflict with the cis-heteropatriarchal norm.
This path is, therefore, a process of recognition of differences, it is the 
desire to be subjected to the dominant discourse, which would require us to be 
relegated to marginalization, with violence or comic representation.
This path will, however, also be the path towards a Pride: a day in which we will 
dance, fight and regain possession of the public space from which we are excluded 
every day, and of which we will reveal the details next June 23! DO NOT MISS!

The suicide of Professor Cloe Bianco brings us dramatically back to the harsh 
reality of transphobia: prejudice, discrimination and violence that people are 
still victims of for their gender identity that does not conform to rigidly 
binary social norms and imposed by a patriarchal, male chauvinist and 
heteronormative culture. . From birth, you must remain nailed to the gender that 
is assigned to you. There are no exceptions, otherwise if you stray from the norm 
you pay dearly for it. Cloe Bianco with courage and effort in 2015 had chosen to 
be herself and, as a teacher, she had also decided to be so in her workplace, the 
school. She entered the classroom with the clothes and name that matched her 
identity and she asked for respect for her dignity as a transgender person. All 
this was not allowed: Cloe Bianco has undergone disciplinary measures and has 
been demoted and removed from her classes. She has been pushed to the sidelines 
by a society that leaves no way out for those who want to self-determine their 
gender and rejects gender as a device of control and oppression. And even now, 
after her tragic suicide, there are those who refer to her in the masculine, as 
the councilor for education of the Veneto region, Elena Donazzan, did recently, 
using masculine pronouns and defining Chloe "a man dressed as woman". As has 
happened in the past in other cases, the dignity of transgender people is not 
respected even in the face of death.

All this requires us to take to the streets to remember the tragedy experienced 
by Chloe Bianco and how the school, instead of supporting it, rejected it. We 
will remember that the victims of transphobia often find in suicide the only way 
out of a world that does not tolerate and marginalize them and we will reaffirm 
our determination to continue to fight against homolesbobitransphobia that in the 
school, work, family, institutional and social media contributes to fueling the 
prejudice and hatred of LGBTQI + people.
We will meet on Saturday 25 June at 8.30 pm in Trieste in front of the Regional 
School Office, which represents the Ministry of Education in Friuli Venezia 
Giulia: it will be a torchlight procession of protest and denunciation but also a 
way to reiterate our rejection of a culture patriarchal that tramples on the 
dignity of those who do not adapt to the social norms that prevent 
self-determination and the expression of the gender in which one recognizes oneself.
